5 Steps To Achieve Your Wellness Goals

This month as we welcome in Autumn and gear up for colder, darker months, many of us turn our minds to our health and wellbeing. This may be joining a new gym, starting a diet, or simply making more health conscious decisions in general.

However, it’s important to remember that there’s no ‘quick fix’ when it comes to your wellbeing, we should instead be setting goals that align with everyday lifestyle changes rather than taking on new extremes only to return back to where we started 2-3 weeks ago.

If you’re tired of setting goals in relation to your health and wellbeing and not being able to sustain them, we are here to share the holistic approaches to take when setting your goals and sticking to healthy habits long term in a more harmonious way.

 1. Creating a Solid Plan

This point is a little more complex than it may seem - it’s not as simple as just saying in your mind that you will do something. You must first address your limiting habits in comparison to the new habits you would like to adopt. For example, if you would like to start regularly working out in the mornings, a limiting habit may be that you stay up late watching tv or scrolling on your phone. A solid plan requires identifying your end goal, such as improving your health and wellbeing by working out 4-5 times per week, and truly understanding what you must do for that to happen.

You must apply this concept to each one of your goals, if you feel a little unsure where to start, following a plan to help you create structure like a Morning Routine Protocol can completely kickstart your journey! A morning routine is exactly what it says- it’s a routine of practices or tasks that are performed every single day. Creating a routine that is designed to fit with your lifestyle, whilst helping you make steps towards your goals (the small ones, and the big ones!) will help you build habits and skills that will vastly improve your day-to-day life AND ensure you actually reach those goals.

2. Setting Realistic Goals

Setting unrealistic goals when it comes to your health is a trap many of us fall into! This is because it gives you a dopamine boost, waking up super early for a workout and eating the strictest diet you’ve ever had for a couple of days. It feels great right? Until you get to about day 3, 4, or 5- then you’re burning out, hating the food you’re eating, and reverting right back to where you started, or maybe even worse!

The first thing to accept is that this is not because you’re not disciplined enough. It’s because you set an unrealistic expectation without a solid plan or practices in place to support you in achieving those goals, not to mention, they weren't sustainable!

Following a platform like the Synergised Membership provides you with all the tools you could need to achieve a healthy lifestyle by making smaller, more gradual changes. You can benefit from healthy recipes to achieve an anti-inflammatory diet, mindset practices to take control of your mental and physical wellbeing, and expert knowledge to better understand your body and its processes.

3. Shifting Your Perspective

Your perspective is important, the mindset you take when setting your goals will ultimately decide how you feel about yourself and your journey as you try to commit to them. Understanding that eating and exercise is not just about how we look, but also how we feel. You can shift your perspective from looking at food as a ‘diet’ or ‘limiting what you eat’, to knowing that you are actively making choices about the food you eat to nourish and fuel your body. Instead of thinking ‘I have to go to the gym’, you should take a moment to appreciate your body for allowing you to perform movement every day that helps you to feel good about yourself. By shifting into this positive viewpoint of your health and wellbeing, you are knowing that you are investing in the future version of yourself.

 4. Building Healthy Habits

You should be building on healthy habits every day- this is the true way to make them stick and build enough trust in yourself that it’s ok if we miss a day or a week because we can bring it right back to a routine. The habit must also be optimised and based around your life in order for it to feel simplified, easy, and hopefully therefore sustainable. This could be something as simple as listening to a podcast when you go for your morning walk. The Health Formula Show podcast is a great example. Say you want to start doing a walk 3x a week on the days you take off from the gym, The Health Formula Show releases new episodes every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, with expert but digestible and highly engaging content. This creates a fixed routine, programming your mind to do your new mindful healthy habit after the pre existing one really increases your chances of sustaining it.

5. Accountability & Community

Find yourself a support system that can help you not only be accountable, but to also make this journey more enjoyable. By purchasing a protocol like the 21 Day Reset, you are holding yourself accountable to completing a Functional Medicine detox, you even receive a journal which helps you prepare, document your experience, stay on track throughout, and reflect once you complete the 21 days. This journal comes with prompts and templates to make sure you are as supported as possible during the 3 week process. We also host our Synergised Community Resets, a supportive and positive way to achieve your next health goal. The community gives each other support on our private Facebook group, cheering each other on and providing accountability.

You can join our next 7 Day Autumn Community Reset starting on Monday 9th October by purchasing the 21 Day Reset now. Paula, founder & CEO, will be joining you on a personal Reset, to share her experience, answer questions and support you on your wellness, weight loss, or anti-aging journey!
